The Jerusalem Opera receives financial support from the Jerusalem Municipality and from the Israel Ministry of Culture and Sport. While the Jerusalem Opera plays to an almost full house, income from ticket sales covers only a small proportion of the high cost of opera productions: to date, the Jerusalem Opera has been obliged to depend primarily on the financial support of sponsorship from foundations and various private sources, which are naturally of a fluctuating nature. The Jerusalem Opera is therefore seeking to widen its donor base:
Whether you are lovers of Jerusalem, culture or devoted opera buffs, we are appealing to you to join with us to ensure that the Jerusalem Opera takes its rightful place alongside Jerusalem’s various cultural institutions. Whatever your gift, we express our sincere gratitude. It will help guarantee that the Jerusalem Opera continues to prosper and bring music and joy to Jerusalem, Israel’s capital city.
